Repetiton of The Salon Evening: Hans Brass - An Artist of The Lost Generation

Because of the lively response, this salon evening is repeated on Monday, 15 September 2014.

This salon evening is dedicated to the Berlin painter and graphic artist Hans Brass (1885-1959), an important artist of our gallery who is represented in the current exhibition. Herr Stefan Isensee will tell us the fascinating story of his grandfather’s life. As as author of an extensive Brass biography and of the catalogue raisonné he will give an insight into the artistic work of a typical representative of the lost generation. Diary passages and selected illustrations describe the life of Hans Brass. The focus lies on the twenties, when the artist was a member of the Sturm circle and the November group, as well as on the early fifties with its political and cultural debates.

The salon evenings are held in German.

Doors open from 6.30 pm
Admission is free.
