New Year Reception with Movie Screening
We would like to welcome the New Year of 2018 together with you. Therefore, we kindly invite you to our New Year reception on Wednesday, the 10th of January, at 6pm in the Salongalerie “Die Möwe”.
This evening will include a special surprise for you: a long-lost and forgotten movie about Renee Sintenis, who is known to be one of the most successful sculptresses during the first half of the 20th Century, was coincidently found a couple of weeks ago and can thus be screened again in Berlin after 30 years. The 16 mm Documentary from 1956 illustrates a vivid impression of Sintenis artistic work. Renee Sintenis is also known as the creator of the “Berliner Bär” (Berlin Bear) and during the movie we are able to watch her shape animal figures. This movie is thought to be the only documentary about Sintenis that includes sound.
We kindly thank Dr. Axel Roch, who is lecturer at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee, for displaying this historical documetary from the 16 mm-Archive of the former “Landes-Film-Dienstes Berlin-Brandenburg”.
