Celebrating The Founding of The November Group with a Literary-Musical Salon

You are cordially invited to an extraordinary salon evening on Monday, the 3rd of December 2018, at 6 pm (doors open at 5.30 pm). This evening will be dedicated to the anniversary of the November Group and our current exhibition “Radical. Visionary. Nonconformist”.

100 years ago on the 3rd of December artists came together for the first time in Berlin to form the November Group. After the victory of the November Revolution in Germany they wanted to take an active part in shaping the young Republic. Shortly thereafter, the group soon numbered 170 artists – including painters, sculptors, composers, writers, art theorists and architects.

Between 1919 and 1932 the November Group made an essential contribution in different artistic genres to the breakthrough of the Modern in Germany. The pictures of the exhibition and our literary-musical salon give an impression of the avant-garde creations and legacy of the November Group. On this evening actress, Annekathrin Bürger and pianist, Matthew Rubenstein will present and interpret compositions mirroring their future visions and the optimism in the years after 1918.

Please note that it is a standing room only event.

Registration is desired by the 28 of November at mail@salongalerie-die-moewe.de.
