The members of the Armida Quartet Johanna Staemmler (violin) and Peter-Philipp Staemmler (cello) delighted the audience who had gathered yesterday and the previous Friday afternoon in Auguststrasse in front of the Salongalerie with two window concerts. In the first concert, the two chamber musicians interpreted the Passacaglia in D minor with virtuosity and great enthusiasm by the Norwegian Johan Halvorsen (1864-1935), who freely arranged a theme by Georg Friedrich Handel for the composition. Yesterday I heard the Passacaglia for violin solo, the so-called Guardian Angel Sonata. Johanna Staemmler performed this piece of variations, which concludes the rosary cycle by the Bohemian Baroque composer H. I. F. Biber (1644 - 1704), sensitively and with a wealth of nuances. On both days, the audience and the Möwe team thanked the committed musicians with warm applause for these musical highlights without a ticket, only with masks and distance.
